There may come a time in life when one feels overwhelmed by situations or life’s challenges. Difficulties can often leave a person questioning their abilities, relationship with significant others (friends or families) or even their purpose in life. Such experiences can leave one feeling depressed, hopeless, anxious and helpless; and such experiences affect them and those closest to them. The most crucial part, which is regarded as a strength, is identifying and acknowledging such experiences in one’s life; meaning having an awareness that one feels overwhelmed by their challenges. The practice of psychology provides the space where such issues can be explored openly without any fear of being judged, and it can be a platform in re-establishing the balance to one’s mental well-being.
